Eag & Vae seminar programme will be largest ever

With EAG and VAE almost upon us, organisers have revealed that the 2017 show will feature the largest educational and seminar programme in the event’s history.

Organiser Karen Cooke explains, “For 2017, both BALPPA and bacta have been involved in creating the seminar programme, with the outcome being a particularly well-rounded programme, reflecting the issues facing the industry as a whole. We believe that attendees from all facets of the amusements and attraction industries will find the content highly informative, relevant and topical.”

The seminar programme will run throughout Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th January and participation is fee to visitors and exhibitors. On day one, Kristna Causer of Jupiter Play and Leisure will advise on How To Create Exciting, Inclusive And Intergenerational Play Spaces. This seminar will be focused on how to engage all visitors in play and leisure activities, making the most out of your investment and creating a lasting impression that will guarantee repeat visits

In a session entitled Changes In Business Rates & Planning Legislation, Barry Davis of Davies & Co and RPS Group’s Nick Laister will be examining the impact of these changes upon leisure and tourism, illustrated with case studies. This is a great opportunity to ask questions of a panel with expertise in consultancy, planning, real estate and business rating.

On Day two, Know Your Rights- Music Licensing will be facilitated by Richard Steward, Head of Dubbing & Tariff Development at PPL. With music an integral part of most leisure businesses, this session will be relevant to many of the show’s participants. Facilitated by Katya Aloha, Viator And Trip Advisor For Tours and Attractions will explain the benefits of engaging with Viator and Trip Advisor and how their potential may be harnessed for increased income generation.

In Exceeding Visitor Expectations, Susie Brindley of Willows Business Support will introduce the brand new ‘Exceeding Visitor Expectations’ programme that has been designed specifically for visitor attraction front-line staff, combining the experience of VisitEngland’s Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, and the renowned Welcome to Excellence programmes.

Blending Childcare With An Existing Leisure Business will be a frank and honest discussion hosted by Kidsplay Director Sharon Elliot and Andrew Wolfe, CEO of Willows Activity Farm. Kidsplay and Willows Activity farm have successfully partnered to bring a nursery to Willows Activity Farm so have a highly practical perspective.

Finally, a session entitled Cashless Systems In The FEC will be facilitated by Helix Leisure’s Andrea Bisi. Helix Leisure is a truly global provider of technology-driven products for out-of-home entertainment operators, including a wide variety of cashless and marketing solutions.
