Sony Tapping Into Big China Amusement & Attractions Market

Stilwell International Consulting Group pointed out that Sony chooses China as the experiment country of theme park shows the great consumer demand of tourism industry in China. Liyun Wu, associate researcher at China Tourism Academy also said that Sony give priority to set up the China theme parks with well-know IP such as Spider-Man, which is popular among Chinese young generation.
Jeffrey Godsick, senior president at Sony Pictures Entertainment said it would be the first Sony theme park around the world. They will introduce IP, acoustic and photoelectric technology of Sony, meanwhile, fully consider Chinese consumer demand that they might introduce local IP as well.

Actually Sony have invested more than USD 0.03 billion to establish Sony Explora Science in China, the first public welfare science museum with the theme of acoustics and photoelectricity around the world in October in 2000.

Disney and Universal studios have also entered Chinese market already. In the meanwhile, Fox World showed their desire as well. Now its Sony’s turn and many insiders believe that they will achieve great success in the flourishing Chinese amusement market.
