Visitors to the EAG show in January will experience the global launch of the latest generation of one of the most successful video game dynasties the industry has ever known.
Time Crisis 5 is one of the most anticipated amusement machine titles in recent years and is likely to cause a storm in the arcade sector. “We have many customers who are still running Time Crisis games in their arcades that can be up to 10 years old – the players love them that much,” says John Brennan, Commercial Director of Bandai Namco Amusements Europe Ltd.
Time Crisis 5 differs from its predecessors with the addition of left and right foot pedals which allow players to seize advantageous positions in order to gain the advantage of their enemies. Players can release the pedals in order to hide and can also cooperate with another player in 2-player mode.
The cabinet boasts two huge 55 inch monitors to create maximum impact. The design of the handgun has also evolved in this game. The new weapon toggle button is a first for the series and players can experience strong feedback and low failure with the newly designed recoil mechanism.
There are currently three unique stages; Rampage in the Resort, Assault Helicopter and a high speed battle on motorcycles. The arcade game also supports Bandai Namco’s Bana Passport for players who want to save their progress.
The Time Crisis series kicked off in 1996 with the original arcade game. The most recent entry in the main series, Time Crisis 4, was released in 2006. “Arcades have waited a long time for this game, we expect a massive response at EAG,” concludes John Brennan.
