The EAG International and the Visitor Attractions Expo has become a key exhibition to begin the year for GeWeTe, the Gauselmann experts in cash handling, payment systems and change machines. This year’s EAG which took place between 15th and 17th January at London’s ExCel Centre saw GeWeTe further extend its product portfolio for the UK market.
The corporate philosophy to provide the right solution for every application was once again corroborated with the answer from GeWeTe to the “cashless challenge”. People in the UK are turning more and more to cashless payment. Even self-service machines often enable only cashless payment.
Amusement and gaming is traditionally ‘coin-op’. The challenge is to fill the gap between cashless and coin-op. The answer is the new ‘Tap & Play’ from GeWeTe. GeWeTe offers two key models to serve two separate requirements. The smaller model – the ‘Tap & Play’ WGS 103 – enables people to purchase a ticket via a cashless method only (debit, Chip&Pin, contactless). The amount debited from the card is then credited on to a barcode ticket that can be used for machine play.
The larger model – the ‘Tap & Play’ Cash-Center-Compact – offers the full circle, meaning all the functions of its small brother, the ‘Tap & Play’ WGS 103, as well as money redemption and change machine facilities. Therefore, players can purchase a barcode ticket by cashless means and the ticket can also be redeemed, thus the remaining value is paid out in cash. Should the player just wish to change money, then this service is also possible.
