‘A week packed with presentations, product briefings and meetings with the world’s major OEMs in the capital of casino gaming’ is how Managing Director, Mark Smith, previewed Gamesman’s attendance at the upcoming G2E show in Las Vegas.
The international gaming equipment, components and systems manufacturer, part of Esterline Corporation, has a strong, year round presence in Vegas following its decision to open a dedicated office there in 2010. “September’s G2E will be five years to the month that we opened our US office” stated Mark Smith. “At the time it was a really big decision for the company but the benefits of being so close to our customers in what is one of the most dynamic gaming markets in the world, are immense. Over the five years, we have doubled the size of the facility and the US-based Gamesman team is headed by our General Manager, Nick Walter who relocated from England to the States to open it and has been there ever since.”
He continued: “A lot of what we do as a company is based around observing and in particular, listening to the market. The closer a company is to its customers the more it can listen and focus on delivering solutions tailored to meet specific needs, which is exactly how we operate, working very closely with our clients’ development teams.
“Whilst we still produce a significant range of off the shelf products, the emphasis is on working with clients to produce bespoke gaming solutions. Exhibitions such as the two G2Es in Vegas and Macau, plus ICE in London, are perfect events for us to achieve this. As a company we are removed from the game development process, instead, our job is to create what our customers visualise.”
Gamesman will also be using Vegas week to bring its Target 25k fundraising activities ‘Stateside’. Launched at February’s ICE exhibition in London, Target 25k is a Gamesman campaign to raise £25,000 (US$39,000) in order to fund research into Mesothelioma, an aggressive form of lung cancer which the company’s Technical Director James Cove is receiving treatment for. The US fundraising event comprises an evening of poker taking place on 27 September at the Green Valley Resort. For more details and how to participate, contact natasha.kelly@gamesman.co.uk
