These past 20 years have been a wonderful journey filled with great moments for DC. We have seen them take the Photobooth industry to what it is today. In the past 20 years we saw DC grow from a startup company to a multinational worldwide corporation, with offices in USA and Europe. The CEO, Josep Tarres, has continued to grow the Photobooth industry through innovation and technology. This passion and dedication has given the world prime products that have changed the Coinop and Rental Industry.
If we look back and do an overview through its history, we find real gems that have provided us with a before and after creating trends in the industry. Born in February 1997, DC quickly launched Dr.FACE, head on bodies morphing photography Photobooth. Which allows people to morph their faces on different bodies, such as babies, muscle men, tribes, ….. This become a successful product worldwide. It was a pioneer technology of their times, it was the funniest software that existed at that time in the Photobooth industry. A few years later Baby Boom PhotoBooth was born, surprised by its innovative design and its unpredictable funny baby results.
In 2005 DC launched the New Generation PhotoBooth. The prototype was designed by Josep Tarres’ father; Josep Tarres Sr. The New Generation Photobooth was the most technically advanced Photobooth of its time. It created some key aspects you see in today’s Photobooth in the market. The first thing they did was cut the size of the Photobooth in half. By removing the iconic stool and replacing it with a fixed bench, they gave it the space it needed to move the printer and computer under the seat. The standard at that time was to receive 1 Photo Strip with 4 photos, DC wanted to give their clients something more, and 2 Photo Strips was born as a standard.
With these changes, and many more, the New Generation Photobooth is the number one sold Photobooth of its time. When the rental industry began to take prominence in the sector, in 2011 DC launched one of its top products, the Strip PhotoBooth. It was the first Photobooth of its kind with four stunning screens that provides the WOW factor at the events. At that time, in the Rental Industry, all open style Photobooths were home-made, requiring moving and setting up. The home-made existing Photobooths were difficult, taking upwards of 2 hours to setup. The Strip Photobooth innovative design allowed the owners a Plug&Play solution.
From 2012, to the current day, DC has developed a wide range of ultralight portable, small size PhotoBooths; the IGo, the MINI-IGo, and the newest product: the Pocket-the smallest and lightweight PhotoBooth in the market. From these successful moments, DC continues to explore new concepts linked to technology to take the industry to the next level. Achieving spectacular results as the Mega Strip PhotoBooth in 2012, offering a new photographic unprecedented format, a giant strip of 6×16″. The Mega Strip continued to evolve its software to the new era providing a 3D photographic result in 2014.
DC’s PhotoBooths software has also undergone major advances, reaching a very optimum level in terms of applications, functionality and customer interaction. A photo session in a DC PhotoBooth is a real experience of fun and excitement to the users. Some of the applications built for the patrons to enjoy and satisfy all their needs are the SmartPrint, with which the user can print photos from their phone, the QR-ID, an APP with the shape of social network to share and store photos, the QR photo to make copies of the same photo at any time and any place, the Share secure to share photos on social networks safely, record of video-messages, to create animated GIFs of the taken photos, and a lot more.
The owner, for its part, also has considerable advantages as MyPhotoCode, which allows an absolute management of PhotoBooths through a mobile device, the Remote Control of PhotoBooths obtaining real-time status, the Ad Platform created to display ads while they are not taking photos generating extra income, and the different methods of payment allowed are: cash, credit or debit card, contactless and Smartphone.
