Leander welcomes new Sales Director

Platform and content provider appoints David Newstead to lead European expansion plans

Leading platform and game provider Leander Games has named David Newstead as its first Sales Director, as the firm looks to expand its footprint.

Newstead brings 10 years of industry experience, much of which has been spent in senior positions within gaming.

He will take up his role immediately, reporting to CEO Steven Matsell, and will be responsible for leading Leander’s commercial propositions and new market strategies in key regulated markets, with a particular focus on Europe.

Newstead’s early career focused on programme delivery and e-Commerce strategy in financial services, a combination which provided him with the credentials to enter the gaming industry.

He brings proven product, commercial and management experience, with a game design and production background that complements Leander’s aggregation service.

Steven Matsell, CEO of Leander, said: “Having known David for some time through our game partner relationship with Probability Jones, we’re delighted that he has joined us.

“We have ambitious plans to grow our presence across Europe, and his drive and understanding of working with operators, content providers, and B2B aggregators will be key to achieving our goals.”

David Newstead, Sales Director at Leander, said: “With an exciting roadmap already in place, the opportunity to join Leander at this time was hard to resist.

“It’s a pleasure to be given the chance to work with such an ambitious and passionate team, and the creative and talented studios already on the journey with the business.”

“Our focus has to be on quality content and games that stand out in a crowded market. I will use my experience to identify what operators and their customers want, delivering relevant and attractive content that blends familiarity and innovation to help drive player engagement.”

“I’ve seen first-hand that Leander is an agile business, which has proven it can react to an ever-changing market and it’s clear they have a real understanding of what’s needed to successfully provide services to online operators.”

With over 200 games now on offer and a growing distribution network, Newstead is committed to driving “must-have” content to the platform that will maximise commercial success for its operator partners.

His appointment follows a busy 12 months for Leander, which integrated more than 85 games in the second half of 2016.
