Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in North Carolina has become the first casino in the United States of America to specify the iDROPe for its live table games. Harrah’s Cherokee is situated at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in western North Carolina and offers a fantastic range of slots and live games. The 21-storey hotel offers over 1,100 rooms and the resort offers a wide range of entertainment options, including a 3,000 concert venue, Essence Lounge for nightlife, shopping and Mandara Spa amongst others.
The iDROPe from APEX gaming is the revolutionary cash handling solution for live tables. The iDROPe recently won three major awards, two of them at the Casino Marketing & Technology Conference that took place in Las Vegas – in the categories “Top 20 Most Innovative Gaming Technology Products” and “Attendees’ Choice”.
The unique range of benefits offered by the iDROPe have been under evaluation for the last nine months at Harrah’s Cherokee and have passed the assessment with flying colours. Mr. Ron Hager, Director of Table Games, gives clear feedback, “The iDROPe is potentially the perfect product for our live tables. Our customers will be able to exchange their ticket or cash directly at the table for chips. They will no longer need to go to the cash desk to do this. And when they wish to cash out, they can receive the value of their chips on a ticket printed by the iDROPe. Our customers will love this service. For us, we are a busy casino and the large capacity cashbox within the iDROPe is another benefit.”
Dealers can now accept tickets and/or bills directly at the gaming table and insert them into the iDROPe. This also includes promotional tickets. Up to 50 at a time can be entered – the iDROPe validates and stores each one then individually. Cashing out is simple as the chip value is paid back in the form of a ticket. The intuitive integrated touchscreen makes it simple for the dealer to use the iDROPe. The operator has complete information of each and every ticket and bill entered into the iDROPe.
Mr. Brent Younce, Regional Games Performance Manager at Harrah’s Cherokee, added: “We are seeing our customers move more freely between the slot machines and our live tables. They can use the same ticket for play on both. The iDROPe is simple for our dealers to understand and use. The design is clever and intuitive. This product makes a difference. The trial has given excellent results and now we are specifying the iDROPe on our live table games”.
Mr. Kubilay Özer, Global Sales Director at APEX gaming, is very proud of having gained such a prestigious casino as its first major customer in the USA, adding: “Harrah’s Cherokee is naturally associated with world-class gaming entertainment. This customer reference carries great weight and we thank the team there for their forward-thinking and willingness to trial the iDROPe. The results speak for themselves and open the door for the iDROPe to become the standard for cash handling management at live gaming tables in the USA and beyond”.
